Gymnastics Class

Finally, after weeks of planning and searching, the mats for our gymnastics lesson have finally arrived this week! Thanks to Brother Jeremy for his assistance to source for the mats locally. Also many thanks to our Chaplain Rev. Law for his constant follow up .... he's more driven than anyone of us to see that our dream of starting a gymnastics class becomes a reality.

God always provide. We are privileged to have Brother Dave Ting (brother of our GB officer, Lt Candy Ting) and Sister Cynthia to be our coaches, both of whom have good experience in Gymnastics. As far as we know, 4th Miri BB and GB are the first to introduce gymnastics in Miri. We pray that God will continue to bless us so that we are empowered and creative in using this exciting activity to be a bridge to reach out to more Boys and Girls.

Stretching exercise before the class began.

That's not too hard!

Brother Dave showing the Boys how it's done.
Hmm ... actually not that easay.
Come on! It's not going to hurt!

No BB Parade on 9th May

ANNOUNCEMENT

All Officers and Boys, please take note. There will be no BB Parade on 9th May, because of the GMC Family Camp over that weekend.

BB Parade will resume as normal on the following Saturday, 16th May.

Enrolment Sunday

Enrolment Sunday for BB and GB was held on 26th April. All Officers and Boys/Girls arrived early at the church in their full ceremonial uniform. Many parents were also present to provide support and encouragement to their children who would be performing. The Sunday worship service started with the Colour Party March In, led by Lt. Ling Yong Hui, and flanked by Private Sim Soon Sin, Private Kenny Kwan and Private Joshua Lee.

Instructor Simon Lee led the Praise & Worship session.

Dedication of the BB and GB Officers and Instructors.

It is worth a special mention that for the first time ever in the history of 4th Miri, a Boy was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. This honour went to Private Sim. We are proud of your achievement, Sim!! You have shown exemplary attitude and behaviour for other Boys to follow. Keep up the good work!

Private Joshua received a Bronze Scholastic Award for his excellent academic achievement. He scored 6A's in his UPSR exam last year. Well done!
Private Egbert touched our hearts with his testimony. He shared what he has learned in BB since he first joined when he was in standard 5. He went to the Cambodia Mission Trip last year, which earned him a recognition - the Advanced Community Service Award. He is hardworking and is always willing to serve. Keep up the good work, Egbert!
The BB & GB Band performing a song - Georgia.
Watch out! It's the "Mighty Mighty BB" ~ a song performed by the Juniors and Pre Juniors.
The Seniors performing Fancy Drill, which drew laud applause from the congregation. Jeremy (Junior) was a last minute inclusion to replace a Boy who could not come at the last minute.
Group photo at the end of the service.
We thank our Great Captain, our Lord Jesus, for this ministry. We are ready to serve and willing to help young Boys to build good Christian characters. At the same time, we help them develop their body ~ the psychical aspect that some might have neglected in today's academic-success driven society. Remember, Jesus grew both in wisdom and body, gaining favour with God and men ..... Let your boy join the Boys Brigade today!
We are glad to report that the week after the Enrolment Sunday, we have 4 new Boys and 1 "old" Boy who decided to come back. Praise the Lord.
We are still marching toward our Vision ~ to have more than 100 Boys by 2010.
